About The Artist:
Carla Cascales's work is based on finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in earthiness, of revering authenticity above all. Her aesthetic research is a tribute to natural deterioration, authenticity and the passage of time.
Raw materials and natural tones play a central role in the artist's work. In her constant search for the essence of forms and the balance of materials, Cascales explores the imperfection and transience of beauty.
Carla has collaborated with designers including Mar Plus Ask, House of Grey London, Balzar Arquitectos, Viraje, Stelly Selwey, Mesura, Espacio en Blanco and 5 Sólidos Colombia. She has been featured in Architectural Digest, Sight Unseen, Elle, Glamour, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, among others. She’s given talks at numerous cultural institutions including the Design Museum of Barcelona and was recently awarded by MANGO as the greatest emerging artist at the SWAB fair in Barcelona.
