Gabriel Pereyra
Córdoba, Argentina 1968
Inspired by the German Bauhaus and Russian constructivist movements, and informed by a deep interest in philosophical and psychoanalytic literature, Gabriel Pereyra’s abstract works look closely at the untold of the subconscious and the deconstruction of the self.

About The Artist:
Originally from Argentina and now based in Barcelona, emerging artist Gabriel Pereyra is shaping his pictorial language in constant dialogue with his favourite authors - in particular Nietzsche, Borges and Derrida.
His complex and apparently perfect geometric compositions, often painted over pages of old books, express his personal inquietudes and the desire to constantly arrange and rearrange his own existence. They reflect the artists’ contained struggle and ritualistic practice to constantly organise and make sense of the absurdity of the everyday, also looking at issues surrounding mental health
Gabriel works across various techniques and materials - from carved wood to painting directly onto the pages of books that inspire his philosophical outlook on life. In conversation with a dizzyingly European contemporaneity as well as with Art History, his paintings are highly appreciated by private collectors and interior designers.
