⚡️ ELECTRICITY⚡️at Galería 3 Punts is the first solo show by artist Santiago Picatoste in many years. We are SO proud to invite you to experience the exhibition with our team this evening (Thursday 9th June) from 6-8pm at the gallery’s stunning new location on Consell de Cent (317).
We absolutely love Santiago Picatoste’s work and in fact several of his pieces form part of The Art Büro Collection. His bright, eye-catching works delve into the psychology of form and colour and the sensory and aesthetic experiences we have through them. Each piece is inspired by a piece of music or melody, while marrying an urban graffiti aesthetic with figurative elements from nature.
‘One of my first art acquisitions ever was a streaking neon orange painting by Santiago Picatoste - a piece with which I connected deeply at first sight and quite simply makes me happy every time I look at it. This is why I am so enthusiastic about Pika´s long awaited solo show at 3Punts in Barcelona!
The show presents an absolutely fabulous selection of paintings across Santiago’s most consolidated styles and techniques, which greatly reflects the complexity of his pictorial research and the colourful lexicon of his abstract compositions. The works have all been specially created just for the show and are some of the artist’s most exciting and bold pieces yet! "Santiago Picatoste surprises us once again with his collection of “Limbo Fluo”, stimulating pieces made on special paper beautiful fluorine arts, thereby giving great contrast and intensity to his painting." - 3 Punts Gallery
Mapper series (above) is inspired by the grid forms of a comic book and the Chirality pieces are smaller scale works, with more references to street art.
